Custody Is A Universal Subject: Venkat Prabhu

Naga Chaitanya’s unique action thriller Custody under the direction of Venkat Prabhu is all set for release on the 12th of this month. Though there was a good buzz, the intense and intriguing trailer took the expectations to another level. The basic idea of the hero protecting the villain generated curiosity.

Director Venkat Prabhu informs to have taken inspiration from the Malayalam movie Nayattu. “I wrote the story during covid time. Naga Chaitanya liked it completely. He indeed is an apt choice for the role of a constable who has big dreams. Producer Sreenivas was willing to make a movie with me for a long time.”

The director says the movie will have a good love story too. “Shiva is a constable from a small town. He has a family. He has a love story too. The movie starts with Shiva’s problem. He has to face a problem that is not his. From the pre-interval to the climax, the movie is like an edge-of-the-seat thriller. We have made this film according to the taste of the Telugu and Tamil audiences. It is a universal subject. Everyone can enjoy it. The screenplay is fast paced.”

Naga Chaitanya looked dynamic in the promos. “Naga Chaitanya is an amazing actor. You are going to see the new Chay in this film. I like to show heroes differently in my films. We have designed the action part in a very unique way. Everything is fresh.”

Venkat Prabhu also has plans of making Part 2 of Custody.
