Next ‘Big’ Target For Balagam Director

Due to the post-Corona and OTT era, there’s been a decrease in successful Tollywood movies. Consequently, directors have had success when releasing a hit Tollywood movie that leads to heroes queuing up for them to direct them.

Director Venu Yeldandi created a stir in the cinematic world with his movie Balagam–captivating viewers across India and internationally. Not only was it well-received, but it also gathered several prestigious awards, making it one of the most distinguished films of this year. Needless to say, Venu has solidified his own brand. Subsequently, numerous actors and producers have expressed interest in working with him on a large production; and it is known that Dil Raju will join again as a producer. Rumours speculate that an experienced actor will be the lead star in this action-packed movie.

Balagam was undoubtedly a success, and much of its achievement can be attributed to its authentic setting. Venu’s skill as a director is made evident through the characters, setting and overall feel of the film; they very accurately capture Indian life. We can only wish that he doesn’t become caught up in ‘mass entertainers’ just to make big films; we know from Balagam that great films make big waves with audiences.

It looks like, with Rajshekar, Nagarjuna, and Venkatesh as the main contenders who fall in lead star for directing his upcoming project, it remains to be seen who will be chosen for the job. It may also be possible that some of the other senior heroes with busy schedules can still give dates to this director in order to aim for a blockbuster hit.
