Other day the much awaited teaser of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next film “Animal” which features Superstar Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, got released. While the masses admired the teaser for its portrayal of violence in the most stylish way, the internet is right now divided over a debate that the making is actually a copied one. And here is what they say.
Few movie lovers started to post that the famous ‘corridor fight scene’ in the 2003 Korean thriller film Old Boy is a direct inspiration for this teaser, while others started to criticise Sandeep Vanga saying that even he too copied it. At the same time, other references to some famous corridor fight scenes are also being made saying that the director got inspired from them all. On that note, one has to understand that one man fighting against 10s of goons in a corridor or any walkway or narrow path will almost look the same. Watching that particular sequence, and saying that it is a copied one is a bit of too much to say, and too early to say anything about Animal.
On the other hand, the background score given by Harshavardhan Rameswar is being applauded by all quarters. The staccato strings, Punjabi vocals and terrific sound effects design has created a superior impact for the teaser, and there is no way one could say that even the BGM is also copied. When some teaser comes these days, this is how social media functions anyway.
