Ayodhya Saints Demand To Ban Adipurush

The film Adipurush, featuring Prabhas, has garnered strong criticism from the saints in Ayodhya, who are now demanding its ban due to objectionable dialogues. This marks the second time that these saints have voiced their concerns about this mythological drama.

Upon the release of the teaser in October of the previous year, the Ayodhya saints condemned it for distorting historical facts. They particularly took issue with the misrepresentation of Hindu deities, expressing discontent with the portrayal of Hanuman, who was depicted with a beard but without a moustache.

Acharya Satyendra Das, the head priest of Ram Janmabhoomi, accused the filmmakers of disregarding previous protests and presenting a distorted rendition of the Ramayana. He emphasized that Lord Ram, Sita, and even Ravana were portrayed in a manner that deviated from the original narratives. Das deemed the dialogues as shameful and urged the government to promptly ban the film.

Raju Das, the priest of Hanuman Garhi temple, commented that Adipurush exemplifies Bollywood’s apparent indifference towards Hindu culture and sentiments, demonstrating a lack of concern for these values.
