On June 14th, Tollywood producer KP Choudhary (Kabali Telugu distributor) was apprehended by Hyderabad police for possession of drugs, and an ongoing investigation is underway. The examination of KP Chowdary’s call records uncovered his involvement in the sale of cocaine to numerous celebrities, politicians, and prominent figures. This isn’t the first time that drugs case has shaken Tollywood but this time, the names of small artists popped up.
Among those implicated, Tollywood’s senior character artist Surekha Vani, her daughter and Big Boss sensation, Ashu Reddy, emerged due to her frequent phone conversations with Choudhary spanning several months. The police officials are investigating into the connection between these celebrities and KP.
Soon after the circulation of her name in the media, in connection with the case, Ashu Reddy promptly expressed her disapproval on her social media page, while the investigation continues to uncover the truth.
The authorities have seized four mobile phones belonging to KP Choudhary, and upon further investigation, they have identified a list of individuals who purchased drugs from him, stored on his Google Drive. There are reports that his phone book has close to 9000 contacts.
The remand report disclosed 12 names, which include film celebrities, models, businessmen, sportsmen and others. Additionally, the report mentions the inclusion of two film directors and actresses in the list. The remand report also contains information regarding KP Choudhary’s bank transactions, which have been traced.
As the investigation progresses, more details would surface in the case.
