One of the most badly trolled directors ever in Tollywood is none other than Srikanth Addala who has previously made some memorable blockbusters like Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.
After the release of Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam in 2016, both the hero and director faced severe backlash while Mahesh for his ants-in-the-pants dance steps and Srikanth for his boring TV serial like narrative.
The impact of Brahmotsavam is that the director hasn’t found a single opportunity to direct a big film nor any big star gave him dates. He settled down to direct Asuran remake Vetrimaaran, and it looks like the director found his groove there.
The teaser of Peda Kapu Part 1 showcases what sort of director Srikanth Addala is if he has to showcase the politically charged caste-based social drama that is based out of a Godavari village. Just with the teaser, he has not only blown minds but made people forget the vibes of Brahmotsavam that come to their minds after listening to this director’s name.
In a way, Srikanth Addala sounded like Vetrirmaaran and Pa.Ranjith of Tollywood with the kind of teaser he crafted through Peda Kaapu. Just in case the film hits it out of the park, surely many star heroes will be once again queuing to his office to come up with such rustic movies that are laced with drama, emotion and romantic angles as well. Hope things work in the director’s favour this time.
