Despite huge digital marketing, public anticipation and heavy budgeted production, Prabhas’ Adipurush failed to withstand the box office due to the public outcry. And that is now worrying ‘Project K’ makers a bit, as there is a correlation between the content of these two films. Find out what it is.
Adipurush was marketed as a film based on Ramayana, but it failed to live up to audience expectations. The characters and scene designs deviated from the original epic, resulting in public outrage and criticism on social media. Consequently, the film experienced a slowdown after its initial weekend.
Moving on to Project-K, which is rumored to be titled ‘Kala Yaatrikudu’ (time traveler), its originally considered title ‘Kalki’ holds significance in Hindu mythology and that is what is a reason to worry for the team now.
Director Nag Ashwin has envisioned Superstar Prabhas’ character as the modern incarnation of Lord Vishnu known as the Kalki avatar. Due to the strong sentiments and beliefs associated with this avatar, any misinterpretation or misconception in its design could lead to chaos.
Therefore, the Project K team is said to be contemplating to avoid excessive promotion or publicity surrounding this aspect of their movie. They understand the impact that Adipurush’s reception has had and want to ensure they handle this sensitive subject matter responsibly, say insiders.
