BO: All The Releases Met The Same Fate

Every Friday, Tollywood sees a lot of films hitting the marquee and most of the time, the majority of the movies miss hitting the bull’s eye. This time, three films are promoted quite aggressively by the makers, and many thought that most of them are going to shake up the box office. However, nothing such happened.

The most promoted among the lot is none other than Naga Shourya’s Rangabali, and the whole team exuded confidence that they are coming up with a blockbuster. Even the hero maintained that no matter what, the film is going to be a sure shot hit and their ‘native place’ logic is going to spring a surprise. Nothing such happened, however, as the film’s second half went for a toss, and the logicless as well as emotionally dampening screenplay further marred the film’s fate. On Saturday, the film is suffering from a lack of footfalls at the box office.

After Rangabali, the most heard film is Keeravani’s son Sri Simha’s Bhaag Sale. The whole friends and family of the hero promoted the movie big time, and it appeared like this crime-comedy is going to revive the genre that is facing the most crunch these days. However, Bhaag Sale made the audience ‘bhaag’ from theatres with its lifeless narrative and forced laughs. In no time, the screen is staring at empty chairs inside the theatres.

Sometimes, few films are often not promoted well because makers think that they have come out with a gem. And the makers of Rudrangi, a vintage drama, expected that this film might turn out a surprise hit like Kantara. Frankly speaking, the film lacks that magic, and BO results are proving that the hype won’t work unless the content holds attention.

A couple of other small films like Neelankanta’s Circle were also released, and they haven’t made any impact at the BO other day, thus leaving the arena to the previous week’s film, Sree Vishnu’s Samajavaragamana, which proved its mettle and minting money hugely.
