Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has faced significant struggles in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in recent seasons. Their performance in IPL 2023 was particularly disappointing, finishing at the bottom of the standings with only four wins out of 14 matches. Under the leadership of Aiden Markram, the team failed to pose a strong challenge to the other franchises throughout the tournament. This poor team performance caught the attention of Superstar Rajinikanth, who had advice for the team management.
Actor and superstar Rajinikanth, speaking at the audio launch of his upcoming film ‘Jailer,’ was moved by Kavya’s emotions during the IPL matches. He made a heartfelt request to Kalanithi Maran, urging him to strengthen the team with good players.
Rajinikanth expressed his sadness in seeing Kavya upset on television during the IPL matches and hoped for her to witness happier moments.
Despite having some big names in their squad, SRH lacked the necessary firepower to compete effectively. The constant changes in the team lineup have contributed to their instability. SRH parted ways with players like David Warner and Kane Williamson and chose not to retain Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan.
Kavya Maran, the CEO of SRH and the daughter of team owner Kalanithi Maran, has been visibly passionate about the team’s success. However, during the last two editions of the IPL, fans have often seen her upset and expressing sad expressions.
This appeal from the beloved ‘Thalaiva’ to the SRH owner has since gone viral on the internet.
