Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’ has faced challenges with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and has finally been granted an A certificate without any cuts. The board suggested almost 25 modifications and changes when the makers finally opted for ‘A’ certificate.
The film, also starring Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, underwent a two-week-long battle with the CBFC’s revising committee, which demanded numerous cuts for a U/A certificate. However, the makers were unwilling to compromise the film’s integrity and decided to go with an adult certification instead.
Despite concerns that the film might miss its release date of August 11 due to censorship issues, the team is now preparing for an aggressive marketing campaign, and the trailer, which has received a UA certificate, is set to be released soon.
Apart from the censorship troubles, the film faced another controversy when a priest from Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar temple demanded the deletion of certain scenes filmed on the shrine premises. The priest argued that these scenes might offend religious sentiments, and if their demands are not met, they threatened to launch protests across the country.
OMG 2 is the sequel of the super hit film Oh My God.
