Chiranjeevi Had No Interest In ‘Bholaa Shankar’ Initially!

Bholaa-Shankar

The much-anticipated film “Bholaa Shankar,” starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, generates excitement among fans as it is the remake of the popular Tamil film “Vedhalam,” which originally starred Ajith. Director Meher Ramesh, who has been away from the limelight for some time, is helming this project.

The decision to do a remake has been the talk of the town, and Chiranjeevi himself has shed light on why he chose to take on “Vedhalam.”

During the shoot of “Godfather,” which is the Telugu remake of the Malayalam film “Lucifer,” producer Anil Sunkara approached Chiranjeevi for the remake of “Vedhalam.” Initially, Chiru was hesitant about doing another remake, but the producer convinced him otherwise.

Chiranjeevi shared that unlike “Lucifer,” which had full exposure and availability on OTT platforms, “Vedhalam” did not. The producer assured Chiranjeevi that the Telugu version would be treated more like a straight Telugu film, making it a unique experience for the audience. After listening to the story, Chiru felt the same and decided to take up the project.

Meher Ramesh, the director, developed a stylized version of “Vedhalam,” incorporating elements that audiences have come to expect from Chiranjeevi’s films. He added a touch of comedy and ensured that the film felt fresh and distinct, making the viewers feel like they were watching a completely original Telugu movie.

Mahathi Swara Sagar is the film’s music director. Anil Sunkara is bankrolling the film.
