The film “Ghani” marked a significant downturn in the career of Varun Tej, the emerging star of the Mega Family. Released last year, the movie failed to attract even minimal audience attention, resulting in a substantial loss of investment. This noteworthy occurrence is particularly relevant as the film was produced by Bobby, son of Allu Arvind, along with other producers, and directed by newcomer Kiran Korapati.
When faced with such a debacle, it is only natural to analyze the reasons behind the failure. Varun Tej, too, introspects his failures as part of his growth. During the promotional events for his new film “Gandeevadhari Arjuna,” Varun candidly shared that he comprehended the shortcomings of “Ghani.”
He stated, “‘Ghani’ wasn’t my first setback. I have faced challenges in the past as well. Failures impart more profound lessons than successes. Following the assessment of my previous setbacks, I identified the issues and rectified them. This process paved the way for successful films like ‘Fida’ and ‘Tholiprema.’ Reflecting on my own experiences, we understand where we went wrong. ‘Ghani’ was a sports drama, but we attempted to encompass too much within it, and therein lies the difference.”
Varun Tej further revealed that his initial impression upon viewing the first copy of “Ghani” was not optimistic. Despite a flicker of hope for a potential miracle, the movie failed to salvage itself. He emphasized the impact of this experience on his approach, vowing to exercise greater caution moving forward.
As he anticipates the release of “Gandeevadhari Arjuna” on the 25th of this month, Varun Tej’s candid response to the adversity faced underscores the resilience and determination that defines his journey in the world of cinema.
