It’s Mega Hero Vs Mega Fan: Producer on Clash!

Kartikeya Gummakonda’s Bedurulanka 2012 is all set to hit the screens on 25th August. The film is clashing with Varun Tej’s Gandeevadhari Arjuna. Ahead of the film’s release, producer Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni (Benny Muppaneni) has interacted with the media and shared his inputs about the film.

When asked about the clash, producer Benny takes it in stride and answers, “It is not a clash. One side is Mega hero himself and the other side our hero is Mega fan. Both the films are releasing on the same day. We got a good number of screens and we are content with the release it got,” shares Benny.

Talking about the film’s trailer launched by Ram Charan, Benny shares an interesting anecdote. “Before the trailer launch, Ram Charan garu was very curious about the film and its title. He asked about the plot and got to know the details of the film. He looked at Kartikeya and Neha Shetty and immediately he said this pair is looking very fresh and new. He saw the trailer and he was impressed with it.”

Agreeing that Bedurulanka was slightly beyond the film’s budget, producer Benny is confident in the film’s success. “We are quite happy with the way the film is shaped up. Yes, slightly we have crossed our budget. But looking at the content, we’re very happy. Director Clax did a great job. The whole team delivered excellent work.”

He said the film is a fictional story set in 2012 and it’s an engaging narration and keeps the viewers on toes till the end. The dramedy genre is an interesting one appealing to the fans of both drama and comedy.

Producer Benny has co-produced Suhas Colour Photo which bagged the national award. But he didn’t hog any limelight. He admits, “I always maintain a low-profile. I’m media shy.”

On the future projects, Benny says four films are in the pipeline. He says he would take a call based on the result of Bedurulanka 2012. Having said this, he adds that he has confidence that the film would do well at the theatres.
