Breaking away from his traditional roles, Dulquer delved into full-fledged mass action with his latest venture, “King of Kotha.” Paired opposite Aishwarya Lakshmi, this film, directed by Abhilash Joshi and produced by Zee Studios and Wayfarer Films, hit screens on the 24th of this month in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. But, the film disappointed in all languages, resulting in a mixed response from the audiences.
Consequently, reports suggest that the film has garnered approximately Rs. 7.70 crores in collections at the Indian box office. Disappointment looms among fans, considering the movie’s estimated budget of around Rs. 60 crores, as it struggles to cross the Rs. 10 crores mark.
Should the collections remain sluggish in the upcoming days, the film’s trajectory could veer toward a disaster outcome. With the movie lacking substantial positive buzz and experiencing lackluster collections, indications suggest it might reach OTT platforms next month.
Disney Plus Hotstar has reportedly secured the OTT rights for “King of Kotha.”
