Renowned South Indian production house ‘Hombale Films’ earned a pan-India reputation after delivering crowd-pleasing content with blockbuster films like KGF and Kantara. Their upcoming project ‘Salaar’ is undoubtedly the most highly anticipated film of the year. The Prabhas starrer was supposed to hit the screens on September 28th worldwide. But, it was deferred for an indefinite time due to unforeseen circumstances.
The heady combination of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel generated humongous buzz on the film. The hype and hysteria for Salaar are so unprecedented that no other big-ticket film in any language wanted to vie at the box office with it. Hence, no biggie was slated for release in the close vicinity of September 28th.
However, the unexpected postponement came as a huge shocker to trade circles because many other films missed out on an ideal date because of Salaar. Had they postponed it a couple of months ago, some of the upcoming films would have occupied the vacant slot. The mess created by Salaar team has become a talking point everywhere.
While everyone is eagerly waiting for an official announcement, the makers of Salaar are once again tinkering with the new release date. They are creating a lot of confusion with their dilatory tactics. After it was postponed from September 28th, speculations are rife that the film might hit the screens for Sankranthi season or Republic Day.
But, there is no confirmation yet on the new release date. Due to this, filmmakers of many upcoming biggies in different languages are in a dilemma. They are upset with Hombale Films for maintaining utmost silence and creating confusion.
If they fix on a particular date, other films will make plans for their release. The lethargic approach adopted by a reputed and leading banner like Hombale Films is quite unwarranted and trade circles are also not pleased with their awful planning.
