High tension prevailed at the AP-TS border as police, deployed in large numbers, prevented the techies from Telangana entering Andhra Pradesh.
As part of ‘Chalo Rajahmundry’ car rally, the techies planned to reach the Central jail where TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu had been lodged for the last fortnight, to express their solidarity with him. The techies planned the protest against the ‘illegal arrest’ of Naidu beig weekend.
However, the AP police tried to stall them at the state borders and checking all the vehicles. The police allowed only those who had a proper reason, other than protesting against Naidu’s arrest, to cross the border at the Garikapadu check post in Khammam.
Three checkposts were arranged at Garikapadu and every vehicle heading towards Andhra Pradesh from Hyderabad is being thoroughly checked, and then only allowed into the state.
Probably, this is the first time that the techies have come in support of Naidu, who is believed to have developed Cyberabad in a big way which provided to lakhs of techies and many others in the allied sectors, said political observers.
