Jawan 1000 cr Not Out; Will It Touch Baahubali 2?

Continuing its glorious run at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film “Jawan”, which is directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee Kumar, has stunned the world with its performance.

And the film has entered a big club now, with hopes to break into a couple of other records, as the trade is clearly watching to see if it will make up to stand alongside the likes of Baahubali 2 or not.

Having a great weekend, Jawan collected ₹550+ crores nett collection with its Hindi version alone from the Indian box office. The film will be completing 18 days of run and has a long way to go if it gets no major competition from other releases. If we add the Telugu and Tamil versions ‘nett’ collection as well, the film might touch the ₹600 crores mark already with the gross collection likely to be greater than ₹1000 crores. In its lifetime run of nearly 140 days, Baahubali 2 collected nearly ₹1100 crores ‘nett’ and that is the record that Pathaan tried to break into earlier, and Jawan now.

The overall gross collection of Baahubali 2 is nearly ₹1700 crores and one has to see if Jawan does such a big feat. As this Shah Rukh Khan, Nayantara and Deepika Padukone starrer has become the fastest to score 500 in just 18 days, while movies like Gadar, Pathaan and Baahubali 2 took 24, 28 and 34 days respectively, trade pundits are wondering if Jawan would touch Baahubali 2 final collections as well. Watch this space for updates.
