Renu Desai discussed her current health condition during an interview. The actress-director, formerly married to Telugu star Pawan Kalyan, had previously disclosed her health challenges last year. In her conversation about her upcoming movie “Tiger Nageswar Rao,” starring Ravi Teja, she provided an update on her condition once again.
Responding to a question by Gulte.com as to why the actress is not picking. up roles continuously, the actress stated that she has to go slow and steady due to her heart condition.
“Regrettably, my heart condition hasn’t shown significant improvement, as many of you are aware. I must be extremely cautious now and continue taking beta blockers, which induce a somewhat comatose state. Consequently, I’ve gained considerable weight. During the past 3-4 months, I spent most of my time in bed, used steroids, and gained weight as a result. I’m also exploring natural Ayurvedic treatments, but the challenge is that there’s no definitive cure for my condition”, she added.
She further revealed that it is a genetic issue, passed down from her father’s side. Both her grandmother and father experienced heart-related issues and collapsed at the ages of 47 and 50.
That’s the reason she has to remain extremely vigilant, as any lapse in care could be detrimental. The only solution lies in avoiding stress and ensuring plenty of bed rest, because of which she’s not doing roles that are loud and picking films that require a heavy presence on the sets.
