This week’s releases Balayya’s Bhagavanth Kesari and Thalapathy Vijay’s LEO had a great start.
LEO opened big with premiere final gross numbers at a mammoth $1,799,075 in North America’s 626 locations.
LEO garnered mixed to decent reviews all over. The stylish setting and execution of Lokesh Kanagaraj are an asset to LEO and Anirudh’s music. A generic second half remains a setback but it looks like it is not impacting any collections.
Balayya’s Bhagavanth Kesari also landed well, with a gross of $506,300 from the premieres alone. This is from 354 locations in North America.
Bhagavanth Kesari garnered decent reviews as a family movie with Balayya in a subtle dimension and Sreeleela in a good performance. With a big film other than Tiger Nageswara Rao, this Balayya starrer should be doing well over the weekend.
