Actor Nani recently attended the Telangana Roundtable 2023, where he addressed his earlier tweet expressing disappointment over the film ‘Jai Bhim’ not receiving any National Awards.
Nani explained that his tweet had been taken out of context. He emphasized that he was immensely proud of the recognition Telugu cinema received at the National Awards, with films like ‘RRR’ and ‘Pushpa’ being recognized, and his fellow actor Allu Arjun winning his first National Award.
Nani’s earlier tweet was not intended to express unhappiness with the National Award winners. He had genuinely praised ‘Jai Bhim’ as one of the best films he had watched and believed it deserved recognition in at least one category at the National Awards.
“The film deserves an award in at least one category and I wanted to ask the jury if they had watched the film. That’s about it. It’s like I am happy for my sister but upset that my cousin didn’t win,” explained Nani.
Nani’s clarification aimed to put his tweet into perspective, emphasizing that he was both happy for the winners and had a deep appreciation for ‘Jai Bhim.’
