Commercial movies Soggade Chinni Nayana and Bangarraju came as Sankranthi treats and worked out well for Nagarjuna Akkineni. In both these films, the senior hero gave a tinge of village-guy to his roles, and they worked well on Sankranthi eve. Looks like he wants to stick to the same formula for his upcoming biggie “Naa Saami Ranga” as well.
Directed by choreographer Vijay Binni, the film’s first single Yettukelli Povalanipisthunde promo was released yesterday and Nagarjuna made sure to give some village feels through the visuals. Ashika Ranganath’s village belle appearances and Nagarjuna wearing the pancha and kurta in another shot have literally worked out, though it is formulaic repetition by Nagarjuna. The farms, tractor and the folk-like setup, have all got the pulse catching elements that might work on the festival eve.
On the other hand, with Nagarjuna and MM Keeravani teaming up after a long time, expect a musical blockbuster that will ring the charts. But then, amidst the growing competition from the likes of Guntur Kaaram, Eagle, Saindhav and Hanu-Man, can Nag repeating his magic with Naa Saami Ranga is something to be seen.
