“Whatever is happening in Bollywood is wrong right now. People are asking me for Salaar bookings. I’m fighting hard to get Salaar released in our theatres tomorrow, that’s a promise. If Salaar is not given, then we will re-run Animal in our theatres” says the owner of popular Maratha Mandir (Gaiety Cinemas) Manoj Desai, in an exclusive talk with a Bollywood channel.
In a nutshell, some national chain multiplexes are influencing theatre owners across North India, to put another film in the theatres, which has been released today. Already a big multiplex chain has rejected to screen Salaar, due to which Hombale Films has shocked them by removing Salaar from their theatres in South India as well. While the national chain has kept the bookings of Salaar (or any film) not open for December 22nd, many are wondering if they are likely to screen Prabhas’ starrer or not.
Reacting to the same, Manoj Desai clarified that the distribution network is said to be not allowing Salaar to be released in theatres in Bollywood, and he confirmed that this happens whenever two biggies clash at the box office. However, he has opined that Prabhas’ craze is next-level and distributors as well as theatre owners should understand that.
