There has been a significant discussion about the release dates of Sankranti movies, and the Producers’ Council appeared to have found a solution to the so-called Box-Office clash. With the movie “Eagle” being excluded from the Sankranti race, it seemed that the adjustment of theaters for the remaining four movies was almost finalized. But, here comes a twist.
As per the conclusion made by the council, February 9 was agreed upon as a solo date for “Eagle,” with the producer of “Guntur Karam,” Naga Vamsi, accepting the postponement of the movie “Tillu Square,” originally scheduled for that day.
However, producer Anil Sunkara has entered the fray, opening a new controversy. His film, “Ooru Peru Bhairavakona,” is also scheduled for release on February 9. Since “Tillu Square” is a mid-range movie, “Ooru Peru Bhairavakona” is set to compete with it during the Valentine’s Day weekend.
Anil Sunkara mentioned that the producers who met to discuss the Sankranti movie release dates did not contact him, and he would stick to the same date. While the producers promised a solo date for “Eagle,” it remains to be seen if the team will accept this situation or demand the Producers’ Council to fulfill the promise of a solo date by initiating negotiations with team OPB.
