Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming film, “LIC (Love Insurance Corporation),” starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, seems to have encountered copyright problems. A notice has been sent to the film’s makers, including Vignesh Shivan and Seven Screen Studio, by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
The LIC objects to the use of the title. The notice warns of legal action if the title is not changed within seven days. The film, launched in December last year, features SJ Suryah in a significant role and marks the collaboration of Vignesh Shivan, Pradeep, and Krithi for the first time.
The production involves Seven Screen Studio and Rowdy Pictures, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, Yogi Babu in a comedic role, and notable cinematographer Ravi Varman on board.
As of now, the makers have not responded to the notice, and it remains to be seen how they will address this copyright issue surrounding the film’s title.
