The digital content from the south film industry is less compared to the north. But the pandemic has changed the mind-set of south filmmakers and accordingly, many big names have already begun their work for this digital space. First arriving in this trend is ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ and we have the trailer now.
This is an anthology of five extraordinary tales of love, new beginnings, second chances, and a glimmer of hope. This web-series is filmed in the times of the COVID-19 lockdown. The trailer starts off with a phone call and the caller says Modi has announced 21 days lockdown.
Like said above, the lockdown period is a different space for the five tales. Shruti Haasan, Andrea Jeremiah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Ritu Varma, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Anu Hasan, Jayaram, Oorvashi, Bobby Simha are seen in the lead roles. How each one of them deals with the lockdown forms the plot.
The interesting bit is the web-series is directed by Sudha Kongara, Gautham Menon, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Rajiv Menon and Karthik Subbaraj. This is for the first time that something like this happened in Tamil.
Amazon Prime has bankrolled ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ and will be streaming from October 16th.
