In a meeting held by the Telugu Film Producers Council, and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce jointly today, finally clarity was given over the release dates of movies that are targeting the February 8/9 slot.
In fact, for walking out of the Sankranthi race, Raviteja’s “Eagle” was promised a solo release date in Telugu states, but the likes of Sandeep Kishan’s Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, YS Jagan’s unofficial biopic Yaatra 2 and Rajnikanth’s guest-show film Laal Salam have locked the same date. However, after the associations spoke to the producers of these films, Ooru Peru Bhairavakona has decided to give way to Eagle, such that the promise will be kept.
“We requested Yaatra 2 makers, but they didn’t budge; Same is the case with makers of Laal Salam. Finally, Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’s makers understood and decided to move the film to February 16th. We will make sure that Eagle will get more screens” said Dil Raju at the press meet today afternoon.
So we have Eagle hitting cinemas on the 9th of February now, while Ooru Peru Bhairavakona has shifted to the 16th. Other films like Yaatra 2 are hitting cinemas on the 8th, while dubbed movies like Laal Salaam, True Lover are coming up on the 9th.
