These days filmmaking is not just about making a great film but giving it the proper release and landing at the box office. Some films, if released in the wrong season, can collapse at the box office even though the film is too good. Here comes an interesting snippet amidst these discussions.
Speaking with some media friends at the success meet of “Premalu” movie other day, director Anil Ravipudi is said to have felt that the Balayya starrer “Bhagwant Kesari”, which is the last outing of the hero and the director, would have collected double if it released on the Sankranthi eve. Though Bhagwant Kesari collected close to ₹60+ crores share across the globe in its full run at the box office.
Somehow, Anil Ravipudi loves Sankranthi more than any other director, and it looks like his next with Venkatesh might hit on the Pongal 2024 eve only if things go well.
