Sri Lankan cricket legend Muthaiah Muralitharan was and still remains the leading wicket taker in the longer format of the game, Test cricket. In a span of 18 years of his cricketing career, Murali claimed 800 Test and 534 ODI wickets. Now a biopic on this cricket legend is on the cards.
Tamil star hero Vijay Sethupathi will play the role of Murali in this biopic and a concept poster is released today. The poster design has Murali’s bowling action and the official update regarding the same will be arriving soon.
MS Sripathy will be directing this biopic and Vijay Sethupathi will be undergoing a special training especially in bowling.
Murali’s bowling action was a controversial one. In the mid 1990s, Australian umpires had expressed their doubts and later ICC had cleared his action. So this biopic is likely to have all the ups and downs of Murali’s career.
