Composing Music For His Own Biopic

Ilaiyaraaja is one of the star music composers in Indian cinema who completed working on 1000 projects. He commands a huge fan base across the globe. He is irreplaceable in the music industry and now, a biopic is on the cards. Ilaiyaraaja’s fan Dhanush is playing the lead role in the film. The film was launched today in Chennai.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan attended the launch event as a chief guest. Ilaiyaraaja is a star composer who did films in Telugu, Tamil and other Indian languages. There is no biographical film made in Telugu, on the life of a music director and it is the first time that something like this is happening.

There are great music directors like RD Burman, SD Burman, Lakshmikanth Pyarelal, and others who deserve a biopic, but Ilaiyaraaja is getting a film on his life. Arun Mateshwaran is the director of the film. The director previously did Captain Miller, with Dhanush in the lead role. Ilaiyaraaja himself will compose the music for the project, which is a special highlight of the film.

The untitled film will feature Ilaiyaraaja’s life journey and his struggle to survive from nothing to achieving a legendary status. The film is already creating a special interest and we have to see if it becomes a hit.
