Back then, there are rumors everywhere that Megastar Chiranjeevi had offered a special role for Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran in Sye Raa Narasimhareddy but the actor refused to do the part. At the same time, it has come out that Chiru asked Prithviraj to direct Lucifer’s remake as well, but the actor didn’t take up the job. However, there was a solid reason behind this.
Speaking with Gulte.com at the trailer launch event, Prithviraj confirmed that he actually got overwhelmed that Chiru offered him a role next to him, but then expressed his inability to star in it as he’s doing ‘Aadu Jeevitham’ (Goatlife) movie at that time.
Four years later, when Chiru asked him to direct Lucifer, same is the case, as Prithvi is still doing the same movie. “Chiru garu thought I was bluffing as I’ve stated that I’m still doing Aadujeevitham even four years later. He thought I was joking, but I explained to him what was actually happening. In the future, if I get a chance to do such a thing, I will surely take it up”.
Meanwhile, in his exclusive interview with Gulte.com, Prithviraj stated that he didn’t think of making Lucifer sequel, L2: Empuraan as a bilingual in both Malayalam and Telugu (with Chiru). He felt that he couldn’t handle two films at the same time.
