Manjummel Boys is a super successful film at the Malayalam box office which became an industry hit as well after collecting nearly ₹200 crores gross already. The survival thriller directed by Chidambaram is a simple story about rescuing a friend who has accidentally slipped into a cave that is more than 150 ft deep. And that’s what led to huge discussions now.
While the film impressed movie critics, many of the common public were seen discussing how did this film end up collecting ₹200 crores. For most of them, the film looked like a simple save-the-friend kind of drama, and they are wondering why it would become an epic blockbuster as they were asking “ee cinema ki 200 crores ela vachayai?”. Well, there is a reason for that to happen in Malayalam.
Inside the Malayalam version, all the dialogues of the police force are in Tamil, and most of the film’s leading cast won’t understand what is actually coming at them. Only one friend acts as a translator between them, creating an emotional charge, as those scenes make people think how tough it is to get help in a land that doesn’t understand our mother tongue. Similarly it’s a real incident for them, and Manjummel Boys are quite popular in and around Kochi after the gallantry award. So naturally they have shown a lot of interest in the film “Manjummel Boys”.
On the other hand, even the Telugu bookings of Manjummel Boys are looking quite bright and the makers might make good monies over the weekend.
