Sharmila Vs Avinash, Jagan Vs Sunitha

Political developments are extremely uncertain, specially ahead of the elections. The YS family is divided and close relatives are contesting against each other in both MLA and MP constituencies.

APCC president YS Sharmila decided to contest as the Congress candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and her uncle’s son YS Avinash Reddy is her rival in the constituency. She has been urging the voters to send her to the Lok Sabha to represent their problems.

Former minister late Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha is accompanying Sharmila in her campaigning. Sharmila has been alleging that Aviansh Reddy and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy got killed their uncle Vivekananda Reddy.

During the 2019 elections, which means after Vivekananda Reddy’s murder too, Sharmila campaigned in favour of her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Jagan who initially demanded a CBI probe into Viveka murder later opposed investigation by the central investigation agency.

Though Avinash is accused in Vivekananda Reddy, Jagan has fielded him as the MP candidate from Kadapa on YCP ticket, for a second time.

At a time when the electorate felt that the Congress is decimated in the state, Sharmila is pulling in sitting MLAs into the party and breathing in a fresh lease of life. Nothing can be predicted about how and when would political equations change, observed political analysts.

In the recent past, YS Vijayamma blessed Jagan Mohan Reddy and Avinash Reddy. Later, she also blessed Sharmila and Sunitha too.

While Jagan would contest from Pulivendula, his nearest rival is his cousin Sunitha Reddy, fielded by the Congress. In Kadapa, there will be a triangular fight with Avinash Reddy, Sharmila and TDP Alliance candidate contesting against each other.

It will not be a cakewalk for either Avinash or Sharmila and it could prove an advantage to the Alliance candidate.
