Film distributor Anil Thadani, husband of actress Raveena Tandon, is making a power move in the North Indian market. His company, AA Films, has acquired the distribution rights for four highly-anticipated South Indian films dubbed in Hindi, promising a blockbuster line-up for the rest of the year.
Anil Thadani’s strategic acquisitions include:
Kalki (tentative release: May 2024): This fantasy action film stars Prabhas, a pan-India star known for his epic performance in the “Baahubali” franchise.
Pushpa: The Rule (Part 2) (August 15, 2024): The sequel to the hugely successful action drama “Pushpa,” starring Allu Arjun, is expected to continue the rage at the box office.
Devara (October 10, 2024): This upcoming film features Jr. NTR, another A-list Telugu star, and is directed by Koratala Siva, the film is co-acquired with Dharma Productions.
Game Changer (November 2024): Ram Charan, another top South Indian star, leads the cast of this yet-to-be-released film which has S Shankar carving it out.
This strategic move by AA Films capitalizes on the growing popularity of South Indian cinema across the country. Thadani has a proven track record of distributing successful pan-India films, including the “Baahubali” franchise, the “KGF” series, and recent hits like “Pushpa,” “Kantara,” “Salaar,” and “HanuMan.”
Industry analysts believe Thadani’s acquisitions position AA Films to dominate the North Indian market for the remainder of 2024. By betting big on some of the biggest South Indian stars, AA Films is likely to emerge as a top player in distribution circles by the end of year.
