Right now, the lack of big films at the box office is the direct aspect of two enemies that have shaken the plans for Tollywood’s Summer of 2024. They are none other than the ongoing IPL season, and the General Elections schedule that is not giving attention to anything apart from sports and politics. But there’s a third enemy.
Though the arrival of big films at the box office is almost halted, some small films and Tier-3 heroes are testing their luck. However, both the morning shows and matinees are getting hugely affected due to the amplifying heat wave.
In the last two days, temperatures touched nearly 41° Centigrade, forcing people to not come out of their homes during the afternoons, especially from 12 o’clock to 3 pm.
That is directly affecting the walk-ins for the two shows in many single screens. If the temperatures rise to 50° as expected by May 1st week, then Summer is not going to be an easy task for the Telugu box office.
Already one known enemy (IPL) and one unknown enemy (Elections) have stunned Tollywood, and now this third enemy (heatwave) is likely to affect collections of many small movies.
