It’s not just a movie : Allu Arjun

Although Allu Arjun made his debut as an actor with the film Gangothri, it is Sukumar’s debut directorial Arya which brought the name and fame. Both Sukumar and Allu Arjun tasted the first ever big success in their careers with Arya. The film was released today 2 decades ago and it has a special place in the history of Telugu cinema.

On this occasion, Allu Arjun took to his social media profile to share his feelings. He called the film’s release a moment in time that changed his entire course of life.

Sharing a still from the film, Allu Arjun wrote, “20 years of Arya. It’s not just a movie … it’s a moment in time that changed the  course of my life . Gratitude forever.”

Billed to be a romantic drama bankrolled by Dil Raju, the film featured Anu Mehta, Siva Balaji, Subbaraju and others. The film was later remade in Tamil as Kutty (2010). In 2009, the makers did a sequel to it, with the title Arya 2.

Currently, both Sukumar and Allu Arjun are working together for the Pushpa franchise.
