Versatile actor Irrfan Khan, who passed away today after battling with a brain tumour, has left an indelible mark with his work and left a void that can’t be filled. Although Irrfan’s health deteriorated over time, not many have expected that he would be gone too soon. Especially just 2 days after he was admitted to a top hospital in Mumbai with colon infection.
And here are Irrfan Khan’s final words at the hospital on his death bed. According to closed ones and media reports, Irrfan Khan’s last words were, “Amma has come to take me.” The 53-year-old actor had fought till the last moment, but he finally succumbed to the deadly Neuroendocrine tumour.
“Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him,” his family said in a statement Wednesday. “We all pray and hope he is at peace,” the statement added. Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and sons Babil and Ayan Khan.
