Actor, Businessman Sachin Joshi Detained in Airport

A dramatic episode took place at Mumbai airport. Actor, film producer and well-known businessman Sachin Joshi has been detained at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport. Sachin, who has been living in Dubai, had flown in from Dubai to Mumbai.

As soon as he landed in Mumbai, Sachin was detained today morning at Mumbai airport. Immigration department has detained Sachin in connection with the alleged case of gutka seizure in Hyderabad in March 2020. Sachin was handed over to Hyderabad police who took him to Hyderabad for further investigation in related to the Gutka seizure case.

Sachin was served notice under section 41 of the CrPC in March. He was unavailable for the investigation ever since he was served notice. There was a lookout notice on Sachin by Hyderabad police. Hours after he was detained at Mumbai airport, Sachin was taken to Hyderabad. Hyderabad police are questioning Sachin related to the March 2020 case. More details are awaited.

It can be noted that Sachin Joshi is an influential person. He is the chairman of JMJ Group (perfumes, packaging, goa gutka and other products, hotels, construction etc). He also acted in Telugu and Hindi. He also owns production house Viiking Media and Entertainment. His detainment at the Mumbai airport became a hot topic in film circles. Meanwhile, Sachin Joshi’s company has not released any official statement over the latest development.
