Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Bharateeyudu 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the iconic 1996 film Indian. With the recent blockbuster success of Kalki 2898 AD, there is speculation that Bharateeyudu 2 could potentially ride on the wave of audience excitement and enthusiasm. However, a recent ticket price hike granted for the film in Telangana sparks concerns.
Kalki 2898 AD has been a game-changer, defying the post-Sankranti lull and delivering massive profits. The film’s success has reignited the audience’s appetite for high-quality, socially conscious cinema, and Bharateeyudu 2 also has the same ingredients. At the same time, Kamal Haasan’s powerful performance in Kalki 2898 AD has generated anticipation for his upcoming release.
But then, Bharateeyudu 2 will see a hike of ₹75 in multiplexes and ₹50 in single screens in Telangana. This move has been met with mixed reactions, as the primary concern is that the hike might disappoint audiences, especially if the reports and word-of-mouth are not favourable. Audiences are willing to watch a film at a hiked price only if it offers a spectacular cinematic experience.
We have to say that the makers have taken a risk with the ticket price hike, and only If the film can capitalize on the audience’s newfound appetite, surely it will mint big like Kalki. Will it ride the wave or not? Wait and watch!
