Here’s Why We Love Dil Wale Dulhania Lejayenge

Dil Wale Dulhania Lejayenge has given the 90s century kids a lot of relationship goals. The songs and the scenes in the movie made us fall head over heels in love and to date we still wish we had a Raj and Simran moment in our lives. Dil Wale Dulhania Lejayenge was just not any other movie, it was an experience of love and it took us out on a journey of love. Even after twenty five years of the movie continually being played in Maratha Mandir theatre the movie finds its way to touch our hearts. The movie is a roller coaster of emotions; we cry, laugh and fall in love with the movie. Here are a few reasons why we love Dil Wale Dulhania Lejayenge as much as we do.

Love is not just about saying “I love you”.
The small moments like “Palat…” left such a lasting impression on us that even today we watch our loved ones walk away and expect them to turn back if it is true love. From the way Raj prays for the happiness of the girl he met to how they fought for their love makes us believe more in the concept of love.

You don’t need to always run away when in love.
Raj’s efforts to make Bauji agree for Simran to be married to him only make us have more hopes about love. It gave us all some hope to fight for our love and prove the strength of our love than running away. And the fact that Shah Rukh Khan didn’t chose to run away even in his real life shows why he is our “Prince Charming”.

The innocence and simplicity of Raj and Simran’s relationship
Raj and Simran didn’t have any of the complications in their relationship except Bauji not agreeing for their alliance. Their story is a story we all want to have. From meeting each other, to becoming friends and then lovers, they have a fairytale ending we all wished to have and maybe that’s why we love that a little too hard.

You don’t give up on true love.
Raj shows us why he didn’t give up on Simran. He moves to another country for Simran, impresses her family and does everything that’s possible for their relationship to work even if it means trying to prove his mettle to Bauji (We especially love that).

Because “Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam” is an anthem.
We love the movie for the songs that we still listen to and the dialogues that left us moving. The famous dialogue “Bade bade deshon mein choti choti baat hoti rehti hai” is the most iconic lines for the 90s kids and we still love using it.
