Salman Khan’s Family Buys Lanka League’s Cricket Team

Bollywood has a long association with sports especially cricket. From Shah Rukh to Preity Zinta, many celebs own franchises in sports like cricket, football and Kabbadi. However a big man like Salman Khan had no such ownership. In the past Salman made attempts to buy a cricket team that would be part of the cash rich Indian Premier League but his attempts had failed.

Finally Salman Khan becomes an owner of a cricket team. Going into details, Salman and his family have bought Kandy Tuskers, a team of Sri Lanka’s Premier League. Under Sohail Khan International LLP, Salman and family have bought the team and it is officially confirmed by Sohail (Salman’s brother).

Universe Boss Chris Gayle, Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz and Lanka’s promising player Kushal Perera are part of Kandy Tuskers. Lanka Premier League (LPL) is scheduled to begin on November 21st and Salman is expected to attend the matches of his team.

LPL has just five teams and a couple of them have Indians as its owners but the details are not revealed.
