Meiyazhagan Underperformed At BO? Suriya Disagrees

Suriya has been aggressively promoting his Kanguva and in one of the recent interviews, he was asked about Meiyazhagan (Satyam Sundaram). Suriya produced the movie that won the hearts with its touching storytelling.

While Meiyazhagan is liked by all and is being watched by many on the OTT platform, Suriya was asked if it underperformed as per Box office numbers though loved by the critics. Suriya disagrees to it.

The talented actor and sensible producer reveals his thought process about Meiyazhagan’s performance and its reception. Suriya says he is supremely proud of Meiyazhagan.

Refering to its Box office performance, Suriya says he made more than 25 percent profit. He also emphasizes the point that it is the producer who knows the actual numbers not the public. More than the numbers, Suriya says Meiyazhagan is an important film that he wanted people to come and see, immerse themselves and get cleansed and not talk about its money.

Suriya says the movie is a contemporary literature about how the present day people are living, the values, culture, lifestyle, opinions, bonding and ethics and there is no other film that documented all these in the recent times.

The Kanguva actor says he made enough profits and more than that he is proud of the film Meiyazhagan.
