Compared to all other South Indian Movies, Telugu movies usually do very well at the North America Box Office, especially in the USA. In fact, the top two highest-grossing Indian films in North America at the moment are Telugu films, Baahubali 2 & Kalki 2898 AD.
2024 is going to be a landmark year for Telugu movies Box Office in North America. For the first time ever, the cumulative gross of all the Telugu movies released in a single calendar year is going to cross fifty million dollars and even has a chance to cross the sixty million mark with ‘Pushpa2: The Rule’, the most awaited sequel scheduled to release in theatres on 05th December.
So far this year, close to $43 Million Gross was collected from all the Telugu films released in North America with the Top six grossing films being – Kalki 2898 AD – $18.57 Million, Devara – $6.01 Million, Hanuman – $5.26 Million, Tillu 2 – $2.93 Million, Guntur Kaaram – $2.63 Million & Saripodhaa Sanivaaram – $2.5 Million.
With the much-awaited Pushpa2:The Rule, the cumulative gross of Telugu movies this year will surely touch the fifty million plus mark and has a very good chance to even touch the sixty to seventy million mark if Pushpa2 manages to live up to the expectations.
2024 is just the beginning. With the increase in Telugu diaspora in the USA post-Covid, especially the students, crossing the fifty million cumulative gross mark evevery year is going to be a new norm going forward if the big stars release at least one film a year.
