Rishab Shetty‘s career is on a trajectory mode now. Until Kantara happened, he was one of the most talented and under-rated actors in the Kannada film industry. He is also a successful director whose work was recognized within Karnataka. The success of Kantara has made Rishab a star across the nation. Now, the actor’s lineup is a surprising one and all.
The actor signed the characters Lord HanuMan and Chatrapathi Sivaji Maharaj. Rishab is also emerging as a pan-India star; without making any mistakes, he is picking the right scripts. After the huge success of Kantara, he could have easily done a mass-action film or a commercial potboiler to elevate his image nationwide. But he seems to have a vision.
Rishab Shetty will be playing Lord Hanuman in Prashanth Varma’s Jai HanuMan. The films with devotion and a touch of mythology have worked well in Bollywood recently. There are many such examples, including Kantara. Hanuman was also received well across the nation, and Jai Hanuman would make him close to households in Bollywood.
Today, it was announced that Rishab will play the titular role in Chatrapathi Sivaji Maharaj’s biography, directed by Sandeep Singh. The Maharashtra and many parts of North including some parts in South are Sivaji’s ardent followers. The story has been brought forward by many filmmakers in the past. With Rishab taking this up, is a classic example of how talent meets opportunities.
Despite Sivaji hailing from North, the makers picked a South Indian actor to play his role speaks volumes about the talent Rishab possess and the kind of line up that he has to increase his visibility.
With such unique choices, Rishab is not getting into the race of Pan-India stardom and success but focusing on a long-lasting career. Needless to say that Rishab is the next big star emerging in 2025.
On the other hand, Kantara: Chapter 1 is under production.
