Global star Ram Charan’s Game Changer hit theaters on Friday. While the film has received a mix of positive and average responses from different quarters, Ram Charan’s performance in three distinct looks received appreciation.
Interestingly, a real-life personality inspires Ram Charan’s portrayal of the IAS officer in the film. The character is reportedly based on the legendary TN Seshan, an IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre who gained fame as a no-nonsense bureaucrat.
Thirunellai Narayana Iyer Seshan, commonly known as TN Seshan, was a towering figure in Indian politics during the 1990s. As the country’s Election Commissioner, he revolutionized the electoral process, challenging influential political leaders and implementing groundbreaking reforms.
Beyond his role in the Election Commission, Seshan also made a mark in other government departments by halting environmentally damaging projects and holding the government accountable.
TN Seshan won the Ramon Magsaysay Award for government service in 1996.
