Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj was released on January 12 and emerged as the biggest hit in the actor’s career. Directed by Bobby Kolli, Daaku Maharaaj grossed more than Rs. 160 crores at the box office and became the second biggest hit this Sankranthi.
After receiving a positive response in Telugu, the movie was released in Hindi yesterday. Daaku Maharaaj became popular in North India before its Hindi release, all thanks to Balakrishna’s viral song with Urvashi Rautela and the actress’s repeated statements about the film’s success in Hindi media.
Surprisingly, the film opened to a positive word of mouth in Hindi as well. This was unexpected but a good thing to see Balayya making his mark in North India too, which can help his next film Akhanda 2. People who watched Daaku Maharaaj’s Hindi version are praising its action sequences and terrific background score. The presence of Bollywood actors Bobby Deol and Urvashi Rautela also helped the film to an extent.
Looking at the response, Nandamuri fans are urging makers to promote the film extensively in Hindi. Overwhelmed by the response in the North, Bobby Kolli tweeted, “We are thrilled to receive such incredibly positive feedback for the Hindi version of #DaakuMaharaaj. We are truly grateful and excited to meet you very very soon!”
Hopefully, the makers promote the movie in Hindi too and make it a big success in the North as well. Produced by Sithara Entertainments, Daaku Maharaaj features Pragya Jaiswal and Shraddha Srinath in other pivotal roles.
