Vijaya Sai Reddy Talk to Jagan On Phone Before Resignation

YCP leader Vijaya Sai Reddy, who announced his retirement from politics, formally submitted his resignation from the Rajya Sabha on Saturday morning. After making the bombshell announcement on Friday evening, Reddy took the final step by resigning from his Rajya Sabha membership the following day. In a media interaction in Delhi, Reddy explained the reasons behind his decision to retire from politics, emphasizing that it was entirely a personal choice with no external pressures or influences.

Reddy mentioned that his resignation letter was submitted in the official format, and it was accepted by the Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. He further clarified that he had informed party leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy about his decision before taking this step. Interestingly, Jagan was in London when Reddy made the decision, and Reddy made a call to Jagan to explain his reasoning in detail. Although Jagan suggested postponing the resignation, Reddy remained firm in his decision.

Regarding rumors about the Kakinada Port issue being the reason for his exit from politics, Reddy denied any connection with the port case or any involvement with businessman K.V. Rao. He clarified that his only interaction with Rao had been polite greetings and that he had no business dealings with him. He also denied any involvement with other individuals linked to the case, including Y.V. Subba Reddy’s son Vikrant Reddy.

Reflecting on his long-standing association with the Y.S. family, Reddy mentioned that he had served as an auditor to Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and later to Jagan, and he felt deeply indebted to the family. However, he assured that he had never betrayed them and would not do so in the future. He also stated that there were no personal differences with the Y.S. family, and he remained committed to his decision to retire from politics.

Reddy made it clear that he had decided to retire from politics due to his inability to serve the public effectively, and his resignation was not motivated by any ulterior motives. He mentioned that he would also resign from the primary membership of the YSR Congress party in the coming days.

Reddy acknowledged that his resignation could benefit opposition parties in the state but reiterated his commitment to his decision.
