The music director issue for Pushpa 2 was a major topic of discussion before the film’s release. As the release date deadline was nearing, the producers sought help from multiple music directors like Sam CS, Ajaneesh Loknath and Thaman to compose background scores for some scenes in the film. This move has hurt Devi Sri Prasad and he indirectly spoke about it in one of the film’s events.
Eventually, the makers used Sam CS’s score alongside DSP’s BGM in the movie. Sam CS later claimed that 90% of the background score was composed by him. However, as the OST of both Sam CS and DSP’s versions are out now, mixed opinions are coming for Sam’s claims.
Sam shared a total of 18 tracks with a length of around 16 minutes and 18 seconds. On the other side, DSP’s OST jukebox is 33 minutes 29 seconds. This means that DSP composed the majority of the background score for the movie, including crucial scenes.
It looks like Sam CS also composed the score for key sequences but not 90% as he claimed. Netizens are also offering different opinions while comparing both OSTs.
Some are praising Sam for composing such an intense score in a short span whereas some opined that he just filled the score for small scenes mostly and DSP should get major credit for the entire background score of the movie.
