The much-awaited IMAX clash between Ramayana and Godzilla Minus Zero may be avoided in India, according to the latest reports. The Japanese monster film earlier was expected to arrive in Indian theatres on November 6, a day after Ramayana’s planned November 5 release.
However, reports suggest that the Indian release of Godzilla Minus Zero could be postponed due to limited IMAX screen availability. There is no official confirmation yet. If the postponement happens, it could be a major advantage for Ramayana.
Both films are designed for a premium IMAX experience, making screen allocation an important factor. With Ramayana expected to attract significant domestic demand, exhibitors may prefer to dedicate more premium-format shows to Ramayana.
A postponement would remove even that competition and give Ramayana more room to maximise its opening-weekend collections. For a film mounted on such a massive scale, every premium screen matters. All eyes are now on an official announcement regarding Godzilla Minus Zero’s Indian release.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, Ramayana is expected to be one of the biggest theatrical releases of the year.
