Forest Films: New Trend In TFI

Whenever a trend comes, many heroes follow that suit. It looks like a new trend is emerging in Tollywood because many heroes are now doing films in the forest backdrop.

The biggest film that is being made in the forest backdrop is Superstar Mahesh Babu’s next with maverick director SS Rajamouli. Touted to be an action-adventure flick, this movie will be extensively shot in forest areas across the world.

Anushka is coming up with her new film, Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. This is a crime drama set in the Andhra-Orissa forest backdrop and revolves around Ganja smuggling. Ghaati will hit the theatres on April 18.

Manchu Vishnu will soon come up with his most ambitious flick, Kannappa. This devotional film features many big actors like Prabhas, Mohanlal and Akshay Kumar playing key roles. As everyone knows, Kannappa’s story is set in the backdrop of a forest. The film is slated for worldwide release on April 2025.

Actor Sharwanand will soon team up with director Sampath Nandi for a new film. Reportedly, even this movie is set in the forest backdrop. It is heard that Sharwanand will sport a raw and rustic look in the movie and will speak in the Telangana accent. This film is expected to hit the floors in the second half of 2025.

Young hero Bellamkonda Sreenivas teamed up with director Koushik Pegellapati for a horror-thriller, which is apparently set in the forest backdrop. Anupama Parameswaran is playing the female lead in this movie. It is expected to hit the theatres later this year.

If the majority of these movies click well at the box office, we can expect many such forest-based films coming in the future in the Telugu film industry.
