Former Gannavaram MLA and YCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police in Hyderabad. He is currently being transferred to Vijayawada for further investigation. Vamsi is accused in the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram. Vallabaneni Vamsi too made some objectionable comments on Lokesh and His mother Bhuvaneswari. From then TDP cadre is deeply upset with Vamsi and warned him for the consequences.
In February 2023, the TDP office in Gannavaram was vandalized, with vehicles damaged, allegedly by YSRCP activists and followers of Vamsi. The police have been investigating the incident, leading to multiple arrests, including Vamsi’s personal assistant, Raja, and other associates.
Vamsi, who defected from the TDP to the YSRCP in 2020, has been a vocal critic of the TDP and its leadership. His arrest is expected to have significant political implications in Andhra Pradesh.
Authorities are expected to produce Vamsi in court soon, and further details regarding the investigation are awaited.
